Access Scholars Visit the Manila American Cemetery

Access scholars' knowledge of American history and World War II was enhanced after touring the Manila American Cemetery in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City last July 30, 2014.

Together with them were the Access teachers, Mr. Marco D. Meduranda and Mrs. Josephine Opina Fuentes along with Access coordinator Ms. Juriz de Meza. Two esteemed officials, namely Dr. Dawn Rogiers and Ms. Connie Chico,  from the US Embassy Manila were also present in the tour.

Joining the scholars were the Access students from Taguig National High School. Ms. Hermie Lelix, an official in the cemetery who served as tour guide enlightened the students with interesting information about the American Cemetery as well as the heroism of the soldiers honored in that place.

See how the tour went through the photo gallery below.

  5. That was the first time that I come in an American cemetery. At first I though that American cemetery here in the Philippines can only be found in Baguio and Subic. But I was wrong. And, the fact there is also in Taguig, amaze me a lot. I don't know why, maybe because I never come to Taguig and I don't know what kind of place is that and what things are on that. Because of the English Access Program, it gives me more idea not only to the American cemetery here but, also to the landmarks that other places have... :)

ps. It is the first time that a cemetery did not give me any creepy feelings, haha!! xD ;)
