Preparing for the Song Festival
This first week of August, Access scholars learned the English language and American values, through songs. They first examined the significant human experience embodied in the song, We Can by Leann Rimes. Activities include song lyrics gap-fill exercise, and then whole class discussion on the theme and values of the speaker of the song. Afterwards, they brainstormed on songs that had the same inspirational theme. Lastly, in small groups, students composed their own Access theme songs. Their final output will be presented this Friday, August 08 in a culminating activity.

We really enjoyed the Music Festival. When the other groups were performing, and I was watching them, I really wanted to sing and dance with them. The tunes of their songs were familiar to me, and there were the messages of the songs. They're all good. All of us said that we shouldn't give up that easily and we need to overcome challenges; and we really can! Let's be positive.
ReplyDeleteAnother astonishing achievement was reached by everyone. I was stunned by every group's presentation. I know that they felt it, too. We saw the true essential of overcoming challenges as an Access Scholars. I'm looking forward to more group activities that will surely enjoy by everyone. Soar high, Access scholars!!

ReplyDeletewow! I like this activity so much even though I'm very nervous because I show my talents to everyone .And I also prove to myself and everyone that i can, I can perform in front of crowd..:)

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this event, because the team work have been applied in this event. Even though my group is not the winner of this event. I was so very happy, because we performed together.
ReplyDeleteWe had lots of struggles during those times but we, together with my fellow scholars made sure that we would give our best to our performance. The activity was very enduring but we enjoyed it.
